The Graduate Teacher Pilot Program commenced in February 2024 with a design summit that allowed for collaboration, socialisation and input into the content the pilot would use. This summit was attended by corporate and school staff from multiple regions in the Northern Territory.
The pilot is co-designed and intends to reflect the contemporary needs of first year teachers whilst creating a community of learners who can connect during and after the program as a source of collegiality and support.
What does the program involve?
In addition to attending the department wide Teacher Orientation on commencement, this program will provide you with an additional:
- 2 full day face to face workshops in Darwin and Alice Springs
- 4 online forums for mentors
- 4 online seminars for graduate teachers.
As part of the program, graduates will have the chance to build professional knowledge, practice and engagement; further their capability as effective classroom teachers and learn about professional wellbeing.
